Fellows Nomination Deadline Reminder

The deadline this year for receipt of APS Fellows nominations is Wednesday, April 1, 2015. An important action that members of APS-DPB can take is to begin the process for nominating an individual to be an APS Fellow, a special recognition of an individual by their peers.

The nomination process is described on the APS website. APS members are eligible for nomination and election to Fellowship. Each nomination is evaluated by a Fellowship Committee of the appropriate APS division, topical group or forum. Then, after a review by the APS Fellowship Committee, the successful candidates are elected by APS Council. Fellowship is therefore a distinct honor signifying recognition by one's professional peers.

"Attracting and serving a diverse and inclusive membership worldwide is a primary goal for APS. In calling for nominations, we wish to remind you how important it is to give full consideration to qualified women, members of underrepresented minority groups, and scientists from outside the United States."

DPB was fortunate last year in that we elevated six of our colleagues to Fellowship. Check out the APS-DPB page on Fellowship for more information.

Please consider reviewing this opportunity and if necessary, interact with Tor Raubenheimer, Chair of our APS-DPB Fellowship Committee, for more information.
