To serve as a united, inclusive welcoming global hub for the worldwide physics community, APS has implemented accessible registration pricing for the in-person and virtual March and April Meeting attendees, and the virtual DAMOP Meeting attendees.
Scientists with verified residency in countries classified by APS as lower-income countries (LICs), lower-middle-income countries (LMICs), and upper-middle-income countries (UMICs) will now benefit from tiered registration pricing to minimize a financial barrier to attendance. The classification is based on input from the World Bank, each country’s average GDP per capita, and its scientific output and investment in science. This list is updated annually on July 1.
Price accessibility for the global scientific community exemplifies APS's mission to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics for the benefit of humanity.
Registration for the March, April, and DAMOP Meetings will be available at scaled tiers:
APS developed these tiers using GDP per capita and World Bank classifications.
Registrants with verified residency in LICs, LMICs or UMICs will be automatically prompted to select their discount during the March, April, and DAMOP Meetings registration process. APS monitors the validity of all registrations.

The March, April, and DAMOP Meetings are opportunities for all physicists, regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation, to join together and share their research, learn from others, and collaborate. Accessibility in registration pricing is an important step in removing barriers of attendance for those who can both contribute to and benefit from a global scientific community of peers.
A subcommittee within the APS Committee on International Scientific Affairs, in collaboration with APS leadership, carefully constructed the new tiers as part of a larger movement toward offering a “welcoming global hub” and serving physicists worldwide.
All APS meeting fees are evaluated each year to reflect the current costs of hosting each event.
Please contact the APS Registrar with questions or concerns about the registration process.
