Support and grow your physics community

Show Your Gratitude to the Physics Community with a Donation to APS

This past year, APS has accomplished so much to grow the physics community, from supporting underrepresented physics students to advancing new science legislation, and more. These accomplishments are thanks to APS members. We are grateful to you and to the welcoming and inclusive physics community we are building together.

Your generosity will continue to help serve the broader physics community.

Maria Goeppert Mayer

Featured Giving Option

Maria Goeppert Mayer Award

Help recognize and enhance outstanding achievement by a woman physicist in the early years of her career by donating to the Maria Goeppert Mayer Award!

This annual award was established in 1985 and we need to increase this award from a $3,000 stipend to $5,000 so it is on par with other APS awards. This award is designed to highlight women during the early years of her career for scientific achievements that demonstrate her potential as an outstanding physicist.

Equity, access, and opportunity...

"Equity, access, and opportunity are the essential elements of support in contributing to student success along the STEM pathway. The Burroughs Wellcome Fund is a proud contributor to PhysicsQuest’s distribution of kits across underserved and underrepresented communities that provide high quality STEM teaching and learning resources to students who otherwise might not have such access."

- Alfred M. Mays, Director and Chief Strategist for Diversity and Education, Senior Program Officer – Burroughs Wellcome Fund

It takes a village...

"My husband and I noticed a lack of diversity within the physics community and knew that we wanted to help make this change be one of our family's philanthropic priorities. It takes a village to make these important changes and we are thrilled to be a part of that village."
