Background:

Lorraine Blackwell is an Educational Outreach Program Manager at Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics. She coordinates the logistical aspects of Perimeter Institute’s high school student programming, including in-classroom modules for the ‘GoPhysics!’ program, the annual Inspiring Future Women in Science conference that brings together more than 200 students annually, and the two-week-long annual International Summer School for Young Physicists (ISSYP) that has reached students in more than 60 countries around the world. Lorraine has a Bachelor of Arts in English and Anthropology from Wilfrid Laurier University (2004) as well as further training in adult education and instructional design. After 15 years designing and facilitating programs in the social services and agricultural sectors, Lorraine is excited to be supporting the sharing of science knowledge with young people around the world.
