Citation:

"For advancing the theoretical understanding of quantum fault-tolerance in the presence of biased noise."

Background:

Shruti Puri received her BTech. in Engineering Physics from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 2009 and Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford in 2014. Subsequently, she was a postdoctoral researcher at University dé Sherbrooke from 2014-2017 and at Yale University from 2017-2020. In 2020, she joined the faculty of Applied Physics at Yale as an assistant professor. Shruti’s theoretical research lies at the intersection of quantum optics, circuit quantum electrodynamics, quantum information, and computer science with the overall aim to answer foundational questions facing quantum fault-tolerance. She received the 2021-2022 Arthur Greer Memorial Prize, the NSF CAREER Award and Google Research Scholar Award in 2021.
