APS Innovation partners with the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to initiate creative collaborations that solve physics' most challenging problems.
This new initiative will fund innovative projects in experimental physics over the next 11 years. Together, APS Innovation and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation will provide funding to creative, mid-career investigators applying unique problem-solving approaches within experimental physics, especially for high-risk, high-reward research.
The first cohort’s research will explore a broad range of open scientific questions that include, among other topics:
Submit a pre-proposal for the EPI Initiative
These awards brought people together to discuss and collaborate on innovative ways in which emerging technologies can be used to address pressing problems in the physics of fundamental particles and interactions.
The APS Innovation Fund encourages collaborative partnerships among APS members, APS Units and Committees, and APS staff to develop new approaches to advancing the interests of the physics community.
APS prizes and awards recognize outstanding achievements in research, education and public service.
Nominees for and holders of APS Honors (prizes, awards, and fellowship) and official leadership positions are expected to meet standards of professional conduct and integrity as described in the APS Ethics Guidelines. Violations of these standards may disqualify people from consideration or lead to revocation of honors or removal from office.
